The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) analyzed data from over 21,000 universities worldwide, selecting the top 2,000 institutions for its global ranking. This year, 40 Polish universities and research institutes earned a place among the world’s best.
The highest-ranked Polish institution was Jagiellonian University, securing 395th place. Close behind was the University of Warsaw at 427th. Other top-performing Polish institutions include AGH University of Krakow (627th), Warsaw University of Technology (754th), and the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (775th). Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań placed 856th, followed by the National Centre for Nuclear Research (869th) and University of Wrocław, which also made it into the top 1,000 at 937th.
Among medical universities, the Wroclaw Medical University achieved the highest rank, placing 895th, while the Medical University of Warsaw followed at 916th.
CWUR is the only global university ranking that relies entirely on data collected independently by the organization, without relying on surveys or data submissions from universities. This approach ensures a more objective and transparent evaluation of academic performance, as highlighted in a press release by the Medical University of Warsaw.
The Center for World University Rankings grades universities on four factors without relying on surveys and university data submissions: education (25%), employability (25%), faculty (10%), and research (40%). This year, 74 million outcome-based data points were analyzed for the rankings.
