The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) is pleased to announce the call results the 7th edition of the POLONISTA NAWA programme. The scholarship was awarded to 60 people from all over the world, among them 8 scientists!
Th aim of the programme is to promote the Polish language and popularize Polish studies and research around the world by enabling foreigners interested in the Polish language and culture to undertake studies or carry out research projects in Poland. Foreign students, PhD students and scientists whose subject of study or research is the Polish language, Polish culture, art, literature and history can participate in the programme.
Scientists – scholarship holders of the POLONISTA NAWA programme – can carry out research projects lasting from 3 to 12 months at Polish universities, also in English. Polish scientists and academic teachers can carry out research and teaching projects in foreign academic centers that offer Polish studies, Polish studies or Slavic studies.
In this year’s call, scholarships were awarded to 8 researchers from Japan, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. They will carry out research on a wide variety of topics in the fields of, among others, linguistics, glottodidactics, Polish literature or Polish history.
Scientists will be hosted by renowned institutions, including:
- University of Warsaw
- The Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History Polish Academy of Sciences
- The Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences
- Jagiellonian University

Since the programme was launched, 238 individuals from 27 countries have taken part — including 191 students and doctoral candidates and 47 researchers.
